Before sunrise this morning, wind sends wispy clouds scurrying across the gray sky. Yet the trees are nearly still.
Later, in Gateless Gate, Case 13, Ganto whispers in old master Tokusan’s ear. The master, we are told, is satisfied and silent.
What, then, is the last word of Zen?

The sun was hot pink this morning, coming up over a straight line of young trees along a nearly deserted boulevard in Paris.
next to me on a high shelf a glass half filled with water.
i see it from below.

Master Without Words
for
That which is before you is it, in all its fullness, utterly complete.

My girlfriend often whispers in my ear.
I am also satisfied and silent.
She doesnt have to say anything.

as long as this fire in our hearts is burning.
